The ricinus or castor oil we are offering, which is certified for organic cultivation, comes from India, more precisely from the North Indian region of Kutch. There ecologically committed farmers founded the non-governmental organisation (NGO) Satvik in 1995. The objective was to establish a strong company in an economically deprived region with the so-called ecologically adapted rain-fed agriculture.

A well-known German natural cosmetics company discovered Satvik while searching for organic ricinus oil for their own products and has been supporting this cultivation project for years. After having met with the producer, Castor Products Company (CPC), in summer 2010, they recommended Cremer Care as the perfect partner for the sale of their high-quality oil.

With the help of the said natural cosmetics company, the cultivation and processing chain for ricinus was not only brought into being but also certified for organic cultivation.  The organic ricinus oil is produced through cold pressing of organically cultivated seeds in a production line that is certified as well.

With CPC, Cremer Care has found a reliable cooperation partner for high-quality organic ricinus oil and each barrel of organic ricinus oil sold makes organic cultivation in India more worthwhile, thus securing the livelihood of the local population.

Hence it was a particular concern for us to include ricinus oil in organic quality in our Cremer Care portfolio.
